How We Want to Celebrate World Design Day
On April 27, the international design community is celebrating World Design Day 2019, with a special focus on women designers who create “intelligent, inclusive, sensitive design whether to make big differences or small ones.”
As a 100-percent woman-owned business, Street Level Studio definitely applauds this spotlight on female designers and is delighted to celebrate their incredible contributions.
But. (Sigh)
We also suspect it’s time the discussion surrounding design moves beyond separating people into buckets, like gender. Because design, in its purest sense, should be all about creating and conveying something that is universally understood.
So, in the true spirit of inclusion, on this World Design Day, Street Level Studio salutes all designers—whatever their story—who use their talents with purpose and demonstrate a profound respect for what design can do.
